RSA Market Agents (then called Interland) was founded in 1974 and renamed RSA in September 1981. The present owners came on board in August 1984. RSA's growth was initially on the Johannesburg Market where from August 1984 to September 1995 the business was totally re-structured and rebuilt. In September 1995 RSA acquired Ability Brokers (t/a Horn & Co.) and in April 1998 incorporated JM Simpsons Agency. In August 1999 RSA Market Agents entered the Durban Market when it acquired Associated Agencies. Growth on this market was rapid with the acquisition of majority interest in Model Market Agents in July 2000, Duiker Market Agents in December 2000 and Groenland Market Agents in September 2002. These four businesses now successfully trade as RSA Market Agents on the Durban Market. In September 2002, RSA launched its trading activities on the Bloemfontein Market when it acquired the majority stake in A Aboud & Co. In November 2003 Webb and Pretorius Market Agents on the Tshwane Market decided to join forces with RSA Market Agents. RSA Market Agents now successfully trade on the four primary fresh produce markets.
Structure Three divisions: fruit, tomatoes & vegetables, potatoes and onions. A section manager/s assisted by a specialised sales team heads each division. Training: All staff receives ongoing training on all levels. Corporate Image: Well entrenched: corporate clothing easily identifies company employees, sales areas are clearly demarcated by corporate signage. Public Relations Department : Enhances and promotes corporate image by both internal and external communication strategies.
